Has your employer, boss, supervisor or manager fired you or taken some other adverse employment action against you because of your religion?  Has your employer refused to accommodate your religious beliefs or practices?  Is your employer imposing its religious beliefs on you or permitting co-workers to impose their religious beliefs on you?  Have co-workers harassed you because of your religion?

What Does Title VII Protect

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, protects employee religious rights in three separate ways.

First, employers must make reasonable efforts to accommodate your religious beliefs and practices.

Second, employers may not impose its own religious beliefs on your, or make adherence to its religious beliefs a job requirement.

Third, employers may not take adverse employment actions against you based on your religious beliefs.

Who Does Title VII Protect

The law protects employees who belong to organized religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam, and it also protects employees who have sincerely held religious, ethical or moral beliefs.
