On October 16, 2015, The Weiner Law Firm filed a Complaint in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on behalf of our client, Jessica Scott, against GoodHire, LLC and DLC Audit Tax and Advisory.  Plaintiff alleges in the Complaint that DLC had hired her for a position with the company in 2015.  She also alleges that DLC procured a background report from GoodHire and that GoodHire violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act when it furnished an inaccurate background report to DLC.  Plaintiff asserts claims against GoodHire under 15 U.S.C. § 1681e(b) and 15 U.S.C. § 1681k.  Plaintiff further alleges that DLC violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act when it did not give her an opportunity to review the background report, dispute its contents, or correct any inaccuracies before it denied her employment.  She asserts claims against DLC under 15 U.S.C. § 1681b(b)(3).  In the lawsuit, Plaintiff seeks, among other things, actual and/or statutory damages, punitive damages, her costs, and her reasonable attorneys’ fees as provided by 15 U.S.C. § 1681n and 15 U.S.C. § 1681o.  The case has been docketed as Case No. 1:15-cv-03660, N.D.Ga.
