Weiner & Sand Files FLSA Action Against Mahroum Restaurant Group

On August 30, 2018, Weiner & Sand LLC, on behalf of its clients Phillippa Gilkes, Cahanna Salter, John McCarthy, Ashley Fowler, Pedro Maia, and CJ Oetinger, filed a multi-plaintiff lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against Mahroum Restaurant Group, Inc. d/b/a Tony's Sports Bar and Nader Mahroum.  Plaintiff alleges that Defendants violated the Fair Labor Standards Act when they engaged in several schemes designed to deny minimum wage and overtime compensation to Plaintiffs.  Plaintiffs also allege that Defendants violated 26 U.S.C. § 7434 when they filed fraudulent information returns with respect to payments purported to have been made to Plaintiffs.  The case is Gilkes, et al. v. Mahroum Restaurant Group, Inc., et al., Case Number 1:18-cv-04116-ELR in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
